BETHLEHEM (MAY 11) -
Senator
Lisa Boscola announced today that a
Northampton County business has been
awarded $380,000 in state funding
that will help create 6 new jobs and
retain 10 existing jobs in Nazareth.
The local company,
Exigo Manufacturing, Inc., will
receive a total of $380,000 from the
Pennsylvania Industrial Development
Authority (PIDA) in the form of a
low-interest, “bricks-and-mortar”
loan.
"PIDA is one of
Pennsylvania’s most successful
economic development programs,"
Boscola said. “I’m very happy to see
these state funds invested in
helping a local company to expand
and help its employees to keep their
good-paying jobs.”
According to Exigo’s President, Judy Yanega, the
state funding will be used to
acquire and renovate an existing
building in Upper Nazareth. The
company anticipates creating 6 new
jobs with an annual payroll of
$164,472. A total of 10 existing
jobs with an annual payroll of
$337,405 will also be retained.
Boscola praised
both state and local officials for
working together to make the project
a success.
"The approval of this project is an
example of how the combined efforts
of state and local officials can
have a tremendous positive impact on
local businesses and the local
economy,” she said.
Exigo manufactures
steel fittings and valves.
