BOSCOLA: NOMINATE SUPPORTERS OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR PA. AWARD

BETHLEHEM, DEC. 5, 2007: Nominations are now being accepted for an award program to recognize supporters of Pennsylvania’s natural resources, according to state Sen. Lisa Boscola.

 The awards, established by the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, honor a state park, a state forest or a friends group for their exemplary work to improve Pennsylvania’s quality of life and protect natural assets for future generations.

 “Our area is rich in natural treasures, and there are wonderful people and organizations who are ensuring that our resources are cared for and protected,” Boscola said. “They deserve statewide recognition, and I encourage individuals to submit nominations.”

 Categories include the PA Parks and Forests Foundation

Keystone Legacy Award, PA Parks and Forests Government Award,

Park of the Year Award, Forest of the Year Award, Friends Groups Award. The awards will be presented in May 2008.

 Nominations are due by Dec. 14.
