BETHLEHEM
(JAN 4) -
State Senator Lisa Boscola
encourages Pennsylvania residents to
nominate a worthy candidate for the
12th Annual Best 50 Women
in Business awards.
“These
awards recognize businesswomen from
across the state who are the
remarkable contributors in their
field,” Boscola said. “There are so
many women in our area who are
taking charge and making
Pennsylvania a better place to live
and work, and I urge people to
nominate a deserving professional.”
Nominees
must be a female resident of
Pennsylvania or be employed in the
state and must be an owner, partner,
president, chief executive officer
or board chair in a senior executive
management level, or a woman with
significant authority for
decision-making in a business or
company.
Nominees
may not represent a nonprofit
organization or be an elected
official, a member of the judicial
branch or a political appointee.
A panel
of judges will select the top 50
women based on dedication to
business growth, professional and
personal accomplishments, community
involvement and advocacy for women
in business. The award is presented
by the Commonwealth’s Department of
Community and Economic Development
in cooperation with five
Pennsylvania business journals.
Nominations must be sent in by 5
p.m. on Feb. 8. For information on
the nomination procedures, residents
can call the Center for
Entrepreneurial Assistance at
1-800-280-3801. The awards will be
presented on May 21 at the Whitaker
Center for Science and the Arts in
Harrisburg.
