BETHLEHEM (May 22) - State Senator Lisa Boscola announced today that the Pennsylvania New Economy Technology Scholarship program, administered through the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, has issued updated brochures and applications for the 2007-08 academic year. Senator Boscola stated that this program is designed to create a sustained pool of highly trained technology workers, improve the Commonwealth's ability to attract and support new companies and curb the migration of Pennsylvania's best-trained workers to other states. The program consists of two different scholarships - the SciTech Scholarship and the Technology Scholarship. Recipients of these scholarships must agree to work full time in Pennsylvania for one year for each year that a scholarship is received or the scholarship converts to a loan repayable with interest. To obtain information and/or an application, please contact Senator Boscola's district office at (610)868-8667 or by visiting the Senator’s website at www.senatorboscola.com.
