Bethlehem, December 22, 2014 –State Sen. Lisa M. Boscola today announced a total of $ 115,000 in state grant funds for two growing technology companies in Bethlehem.

“This funding will help these businesses expand and enhance economic growth in our region’s growing technology sector,” Boscola said. “This grant program is exactly the kind of proven investment strategy that can help diversify and strengthen our economy – and create good jobs.”

Boscola noted that since 1983, the state-funded Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania has helped over 450 start-up companies; and created over 16,214 jobs, while retaining another 22,155.

“This program returns nearly $4 to the taxpayers for every dollar we invest,” Boscola said. “This is exactly the kind of proven investment strategy we need to be doing more of at the state level.”

According to Boscola, the projects are:

  • $65,000 for Orbweaver Sourcing, LLC, of Bethlehem, to develop supplier pricing infrastructure in a cloud-based software solution for circuit board manufacturers. She said current sourcing and procurement models in electronics manufacturing are inefficient. Boscola said the company’s software platform will allow for more well-negotiated terms with suppliers, which should help clients reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • $50,000 for EggZack of Bethlehem to expand its sales effort by adding more resellers and increasing its direct sales force. The company provides an automated sales and marketing system that helps companies reach local markets. The company’s web and mobile-based platform is designed to generate more leads, which converts to more sales.
