Harrisburg, July 13, 2016 – The state Senate today confirmed Bangor Attorney Alicia Rose Zito to finish the term of the late Northampton County District Justice Todd Strohe, state Sen. Lisa Boscola (D-Northampton/Lehigh) said today.

“I was honored to recommend Alicia to Governor Tom Wolf for this position and pleased with the Senate’s bipartisan support,” Boscola said. “Her legal knowledge, experience and integrity make her an outstanding choice for this position.”

Zito previously served as a judicial law clerk for Superior Court Judge Jack Panella; and currently serves as a judicial law clerk for Northampton County Common Pleas Judge Stephen Baratta. She has taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Northampton Community College.

She is a 1995 Pius X High School graduate, a 1999 graduate of the University of Scranton and a 2002 graduate of the Dickinson Law School.

“As a lifelong resident of the Slate Belt community, Alicia understands the unique character of our area,” added Boscola.

Zito will serve as district justice for the municipalities of: Bangor, East Bangor, Lower Mt. Bethel Township, Portland, Roseto, Upper Mt. Bethel Township and Washington Township.
