Bethlehem, August 28, 2014Senator Lisa Boscola announced today that the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts has awarded $ 205,398 in state funding to local arts programs and organizations in Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Boscola praised the Council for working to help keep the arts community alive in the Lehigh Valley.

“There is no doubt that the arts have played an important role in the economic vitality for the Lehigh Valley and our Commonwealth and that the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts has been a tremendous partner in making that happen,” she said.

These grants are awarded to those who help broaden the availability and appreciation of the arts throughout the Commonwealth. The local recipients are:

  • Art Galleries, Lehigh University – $5,464
  • Arts Community of Easton – $2,103
  • ArtsQuest – $78,196
  • Bach Choir of Bethlehem – $15,219
  • Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley – $2,885
  • Chamber Music Society of Bethlehem – $2,103
  • Dance Consortium, Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges – $4,757
  • Godfrey Daniels – $3,549
  • Grupo Folklorico Mexicano Xochiquetzal – $5,000
  • Lafayette College Performance Series, Williams Center for the Arts – $9,946
  • Lafayette Art Galleries and EPI, Lafayette College – $4,373
  • Mock Turtle Marionette Theater – $1,303
  • Nurture Nature Center – $1,151
  • Pennsylvania Youth Theatre – $8,446
  • South Side Film Institute – $2,103
  • State Theatre Center for the Arts – $28,236
  • Touchstone Theatre – $7,867
  • Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley – $2,103
  • Zoellner Arts Center – $20,594
